Hendu with ANOTHER double-double

Richard Hendrix- "Rich," to those who know him from his website- continues to lead the world in rebounding. 17 more last night, 12 points, 4 assists, 2 blocked shots. On the year: http://www.nba.com/dleague/playerfile/index.jsp?player=richard_hendrix

League-leading... didn't that indicate D-League scrubs could maybe fill roles in the NBA? Kelenna Azubuike and CJ Watson, Jermareo Davidson, Wil Bynum, etc., etc., etc.? Hendrix would kill 37-year olds Rob Kurz and Jermareo Davidson in practice.

I know, I know, "No one's picked him up in the NBA!"

Meanwhile, NO ONE is taking on excessive contractual obligations to try guys on this year. Every few hundred thou counts. We have Rob fucking Kurz GUARANTEED hundreds of thousands of dollars to do NOTHING but satisfy Don Nelson's ego. But hey, these things can be evaluated on a completely rational, on court talent and regular development program-centric plane of OK. Everything's OK. Nellie's at the wheel. In Nelson We Trust.

We're so fucked.

flya- Kurz's staggering development has been a lone bright spot for me this season.

Kurz was kept strictly as a practice player. Nellie wanted a white dude who could block shots to embarass Wright and AR whenever they failed to protect the ball. He's a teaching tool. (Emphasis on tool.) Hendrix certainly has more NBA potential and Kurz, but neither are going to be any good anywhere. For the 12 man spot, Nellie knew that Kurz would get under AR&BW's skin. Nobody likes being clowned by the white stiff in practice.

It worked. Randolph finally learns to lead with his elbows so that Kurz can't block his shot, and the media has a hissy fit about AR attacking the white dude.

BJ gets fired for not advocating for his client, and Bill Duffy steps in and says stop effing with my guys.

Randolph becomes a rotation player and everyone lives happilly ever after.

Rob Kurz is my MVP.
